Where can I park?
Downtown Burlington has several parking options (visit www.parkburlington.com) though we do anticipate spaces filling up quickly; so get there very early!. Route 127 will be closed on April 8 to activate this space for parking. The road closes at 10 am and parking will begin at 12 pm. Parking costs $30 for cars with seven or fewer passengers. Cars with eight or more passengers will be charged $50. All cars must be moved from Route 127 by 8 pm.

To get there, exit Interstate 89 via Exit 14 and head north on Route 2/Main Street toward downtown Burlington. At the intersection of Main Street and Prospect Street, near the UVM campus green, you will see signage directing you to Eclipse Parking. Follow these signs to Route 127.

From here, quick shuttle busses will move people to Lake Street, between College and Main, and back.

ADA-accessible parking is available at the Pease Lot near Waterfront park. No other parking will be allowed in this area west of Battery Street at the Waterfront.

For those coming into Burlington on April 8, please allow extra travel time. We expect Interstate 89 to be congested.

What roads are closed on April 8?
To provide ample room for people to congregate, walk, and park, the City is strategically closing and modifying the following streets to vehicular traffic:

    • College Street, from N. Winooski Avenue to the Waterfront, on April 8 from 11 am to 6 pm. This creates a safe pedestrian corridor between Church Street and the Waterfront. Please access the Downtown Garage via Cherry Street.
    • Lake Street will be closed to vehicles from 11 am to 6 pm. This creates a car-free zone to accommodate the large number of people in the Waterfront District. If you have a specific need to travel in this area (residents, businesses), need to park in the Main Street Landing lot, or need accessible parking in the Pease Lot, please enter the controlled gate at Battery and Main Streets. Passes will be distributed to affected residents and businesses ahead of the event.
    • The following will be closed from 11 am-6 pm: Battery Street from Main Street to Park Street; Park Street from Battery Street to Sherman Street; Sherman Street from North Champlain Street to North Avenue; and North Avenue from Sherman Street to North Street. This allows for a heavy pedestrian load in and around Battery Park and provides a clear route for shuttle busses and emergency vehicles.
    • Park Street, from Manhattan Drive to Sherman Street, will be closed to regular traffic to accommodate our shuttle bus route on April 8, from 11 am to 6 pm.
    • Monroe Street, Sherman Street, and Poplar Street, between North Champlain and Park Streets, will be closed 11 am to 6 pm, due to Park Street being closed.
    • Route 127 (The Beltline) will be closed in both directions, from Manhattan Drive to Plattsburgh Avenue, from 10 am to 8 pm on April 8. The City is making this a controlled parking zone to alleviate parking issues in the Downtown. Shuttle busses will move attendees from Route 127 to Main Street from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm.
    • St. Paul Street, from Main Street to College Street, will be closed on April 8 from 10 am to 8 pm to accommodate the Obscura After Party in City Hall Park.

Other intersections will be controlled by uniformed traffic officers throughout the City. Please allow for extra travel time and remain patient. Please revisit this information as we get closer to April 8 as some plans may shift as we work with a number of stakeholders.
